CFIA Releases Front of Pack Labelling Teaser

Dear valued clients,

Health Canada has released a front of pack labelling “teaser” on June 30th that contains much information but is missing formatting specifics.

The regulations themselves are due to be released on July 20th, 2022 with a compliance date of January 1, 2026.

I have included the HC link below. It explains that products meeting or exceeding “set levels” of saturated fats, sugars and sodium will require the symbol. It also includes a list of products that will be exempt. There is a breakdown of what will be on the logo as well as giving examples of its positioning on three different product packages [logo is top right].

Once the regulations drop on July 20th, providing the specifics, I will be posting a follow-up with more specific information.

Please feel free to call me if you wish to discuss this further.
